<\/figure>\n\n\n\nYou must start by creating\nyour\nproject\n: load the data in the cartographic window,\nselect the desired symbology for each layer\n, etc. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Then you will create the desired page\nlayout with the page layout manager where you will\nhave the map(s), legend, titles and texts , scale bar , etc.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The only thing to remember at this moment\nis\nthat you must create a\npage layout setting that can be\nused\nfor each section of your working area. The\neasiest way is to zoom in one of the desired maps and to format the layout page\nsetting by, always, using this\nzoom\nlevel . You\nmust work as if\nyour only goal were to\nobtain, as output, nothing but that map.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Once satisfied with your\nlayout page setting, the real Atlas creation starts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
How to create<\/strong>\nthe<\/strong>\nAtlas master<\/strong> layer.<\/strong>\n\n\nThis layer must\ncontain\nthe entities that will serve to define the extent of each map of the\nAtlas . Forcibly, it has to be \u201cpolygon type\u201d . \n\n\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n Green areas can do the trick .\nEach\noutput map will have the same scope and\nscale\n. But the layer of communes can,\nalso, be used . In this\ncase,\neach map will be centred in one commune, alternatively. They\nwill\nhave different scales or you\ncan\nset\nup a parameter to\ndetermine a common scale for all the maps.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n This layer does not only contain\nthe extend of each map of the Atlas . It contains, as\nwell, all the variables associated with each map.\nFor example , if you would\nlike that each map of green areas to have a different title , a text attribute\nfor each entity, containing the text to be used when creating\neach map, will be needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n How to set<\/strong>\nup the<\/strong> Atlas<\/strong> function<\/strong>\n\n\nIn the page setting manager,\nwhen you\nhave\nformatted\nyour output, click on the tab \u00a0\u00bb Atlas\n \u00a0\u00bb \n\n\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGo\nto the function setting. \n\n\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n Check the Create<\/em><\/strong> an<\/em><\/strong> Atlas<\/em><\/strong>\nbox to start the function. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Setup panel allows you to set up the Atlas operating\noptions: <\/p>\n\n\n\n 1- Coverage<\/em><\/strong> layer<\/em><\/strong>: select\nthe Atlas master layer with the areas corresponding\nto each map. <\/p>\n\n\n\n 2- The option Hide<\/em><\/strong> the<\/em><\/strong>\ncover<\/em><\/strong> layer<\/em><\/strong> stops the\nprinting of the entities of the master layer mistress\nin your maps. \n\n3- The Page name <\/em><\/strong>is\nan attribute of the master layer used to identify the maps in\nthe format manager. It is not used for the outputs.\n \n\n\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n 4- The option Filter<\/em><\/strong> with<\/em><\/strong>\nallows creating a filter on the master layer.\nThis allows you to\nuse a single master layer\nfor\nseveral different Atlas, by selecting through filtering the entities to be taken\ninto\naccount\nfor the creation of cards. <\/p>\n\n\n\n 5-The Order<\/em><\/strong> By<\/em><\/strong> option\nallows\nto determine the sequence of maps. By default, if this\noption is not used , maps will be produced\naccording\nto the order of the recordings of the master layer.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Output panel is used to give structure to the file name of each map, if you want a file by map. You can, as well, check the box to produce one single file with the set of maps . The first option applies, for example, to a series of images png , while the second applies mostly to a files pdf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n How to display the Atlas<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n In the format manager menu page,\nclick Atlas<\/em><\/strong> and Atlas<\/em><\/strong> Overview.<\/em><\/strong>\nThe\nfollowing menu options: First<\/em><\/strong> entity<\/em><\/strong> ,<\/em><\/strong>\nEntity<\/em><\/strong> previous<\/em><\/strong> ,<\/em><\/strong>\nEntity<\/em><\/strong> Next<\/em><\/strong> ,<\/em><\/strong> Last<\/em><\/strong>\nentity<\/em><\/strong> are activated\n. They allow you to display in the format manager\nwindow on each page of the Atlas maps. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The other menu options allow you , once the setting up is\nfinished,\nto achieve the desired outputs: individual maps or\nsingle\nfile <\/p>\n\n\n\n How to set up<\/strong>\nthe<\/strong> Atlas<\/strong> variables<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n You can personalize\nall\nthe Atlas maps across variables. The most common need\nis\nthe customization of the title of each map. \n\nTherefore , you must create\na\nTitle\nelement in your page\nsetting. In the text window of the item, you can\nenter\nthe classical text and references for one or\nmany\nattributes\nof your master\nlayer . \n\n\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n In this example\nwe are referring to an attribute named Title2.<\/em><\/strong>\nThe\nfact of delimiting the by [%<\/em><\/strong> and %]<\/em><\/strong>\nidentifies\nit as a variable to be replaced by a\nvalue\nwhen creating the Atlas. The variables are as\nwell, replaced when viewing the Atlas with\nthe Atlas<\/em><\/strong> Preview.<\/em><\/strong> \n\nBut the variables are not\nlimited to the textual elements of the page.
