No need to search for Bing Traffic options , you are limited to\nbasic displays . <\/p>\n\n\n\n Stamen<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n Stamen is a company\nbased\nin San Francisco, that has developed applications from\nOpenStreetMaps\n. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Terrain option only covers the United States, while two\nothers\n, Watercolor and Toner, cover the whole\nworld . <\/p>\n\n\n\n The option Watercolor is used\nfor the map background. It applies effects on the\nOpenStreetMaps coverage that gives the map a\nhand drawing watercolor style. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Toner option is a rendering black\nand white high contrast OpenStreetMap data. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The following figure shows an example\nof\nboth options jointly . <\/p>\n\n\n\n MapBox<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n MapBox is an\nAmerican\n company specialized\nin\non-line mapping and very linked\nto OpenStreetMaps . <\/p>\n\n\n\n Satellite coverage, with a definition\nclearly\ninferior\nto Bing Satellite, does not offer much interest . <\/p>\n\n\n\n MapQuest<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n MapQuest is an American company that\nworks on the OpenStreetMap data.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n The OpenAerialMap option only covers the United\nStates. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The OSM option displays the same data\nas\nOppenstreetMap with a slightly different\nrendering. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Strava<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n Strava is a site dedicated to\ncyclo-tourism . You can\nsimply\nshow\nsections of Strava, but no associated information .\nThe\ninterest of such display escapes\nme . But if you\nfind one , it’s possible to do it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Tianditu<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n Tianditu is the Chinese world server.\nThe only problem is\nthat I have never come across this\nserver\nin the right place . \nMapnik is a free map rendering\nsoftware that is used by OSM to draw the main map. OSM\nuses Mapnik to draw 256 x 256 px squares, which are then delivered from the\ntile server at tile.openstreetmap.org.
\nMapnik tiles are generated and\nstored on the tile.openstreetmap.org server. They are\ncalculated by a weekly extraction which is currently carried out on Wednesday\nmornings (GMT \/ BST time zone). Each tile has its date of\ncreation and a simple marking of obsolescence (flag or flag) meaning that it is\nready to be recalculated.
