To save the current\ndimensional model, enter a name in the text box and click the <strong><em>\u00ab\u00a0Save\u00a0\u00bb<\/em><\/strong>\nbutton . Be sure to save the document (.mxd) before closing ArcMap. <strong>Templates\nare saved in the .mxd file<\/strong> . To re-open a saved dimensional model, simply\nselect it from the list. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How to modify three-dimensional models<\/strong> \n\nThe buttons of the <strong><em>\u00ab\u00a0Edit\u00a0\u00bb<\/em><\/strong>\npanel allow you controlling the dimensional values \u200b\u200bthat appear in the cursors.\nTherefore, you can define the start and end values \u200b\u200bof a dimension and remove\nand \/ or &nbsp; restore the selected dimension values. The buttons are only\nactivated when the conditions are adequate. This option is\nenabled only for temporal mosaic datasets &nbsp; and imaging services. <br>\n<strong><em>\u00ab\u00a0Time Definition\u00a0\u00bb<\/em><\/strong> is the default mode. When this mode\nis selected, the Dimension Explorer cursorr controls the \u00ab\u00a0Time\u00a0\u00bb\nparameter of the map display: <br>\no All activated time layers in the map respond according to the cursor of\nDimension Explorer. <br>\no The maximum time resolution is 1 second. <br>\no The entire display of the visible map is refreshed when the time is updated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&rsquo;s exactly the same as the classic ArcMap time cursor. <br>\n<strong><em>\u00ab\u00a0Lock raster\u00a0\u00bb<\/em><\/strong> provides a more precise mode of time\nbrowsing for temporal mosaics and imaging services. This mode works by applying\nthe \u00ab\u00a0Lock on Raster\u00a0\u00bb mosaic method to the selected layer. When this\nmode is active: <br>\no Only the selected layer responds to the Dimension Explorer cursor command. <br>\no The maximum temporal resolution is one millisecond. <br>\no The map will only display data that corresponds to the defined spatial filter\nwhen the dimensional model was built. <br>\no The map view is refreshed only on the current imagery \/ frame envelope when\nnavigating with the Dimension Explorer cursor. <br>\no The setting of the map time display is set to the full time dimension\nmeasurement. When \u00ab\u00a0Turn repeat on\u00a0\u00bb is\nchecked, the animation will restart in a loop, from the beginning when it\nreaches the end. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How to export<\/strong>\n\nWith the \u00ab\u00a0Export\u00a0\u00bb panel you can export\nthe visible map either as a single image or as a series of images. These images\ncan be used to create video animations using free programs such as ffmpeg and\nMovie Maker (included in Windows Essentials). Lower values \u200b\u200bproduce smaller image files, but\nat the expense of image quality. Higher values \u200b\u200bproduce larger files with\nbetter image quality. To change the default value, type a value from 1 to 100. <br>\n<strong><em>Scale of the output map<\/em><\/strong> : The scale of the map file (s) exported.\nBy default, this value is equal to the scale of the current map. The value is\nchanged automatically whenever the visible map extent is changed. You can also\nchange the value by typing a value and pressing the Enter or Tab key. The value\nof this parameter has an inverse effect on the number of rows and columns of\nthe exported image. For example, entering a lower value will increase the\nnumber of rows and columns in the exported image. <br>\n<strong><em>Lock current<\/em><\/strong> : If unchecked, the value changes &nbsp; whenever\nthe visible range of the map changes. When it is checked, &nbsp; the indicated\nvalue does not change with the change of scope of the view in ArcMap. <br>\n<strong><em>Output Resolution:<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>columns and<\/em><\/strong><strong><em>rows<\/em><\/strong> : the\nnumber of columns and rows in the exported image (s). These values \u200b\u200bdepend on\nthe size and definition of the screen. You can modify the rows and columns of\nthe exported image by manually adjusting the size on the screen of the ArcMap\nwindow. <br><strong><em>DPI:<\/em><\/strong> The dots per inch of the exported image (s). This parameter\nhas a direct effect on the number of rows and columns of the exported image\n(s). The value is defined from the &nbsp; Current display settings in Windows. If\nyou want to export using a different DPI value, change the DPI setting in\nWindows, then close and reopen the export panel. <br><strong><em>* 2, * 3<\/em><\/strong> These buttons can be used to\nincrease the number of rows and columns to a number higher than that available\nin the display device (monitor). This can be useful if you want to export the\nimages at a resolution higher than that available in the display. <br><strong><em>* 2<\/em><\/strong> : doubles the number of rows and columns of the exported\nimage (s), changes the scale setting to half of the current value. <br><strong><em>* 3<\/em><\/strong> : Triple the number of rows and columns of the exported image\n(s), change the scale setting to one-third of the current value. <br><strong><em>Reset<\/em><\/strong> : <strong><em>Resets<\/em><\/strong> the number of rows and columns for\nthe current display settings, change the setting &nbsp; from the scale to that\nof the current map. <br><strong><em>Export Single Image:<\/em><\/strong> This button exports the visible extended map\nto a single image.
