Most likely you know\nhow\nto export an ArcMap\nlayer in kml or kmz\nto display them in Google Earth.\n
\nBut\n, did you know it is\npossible to export directly an\nentire map ? <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
Here’s how. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The tool is available\nin\nthe toolbox and requires only mxd input file and the location and name you\nwant\nfor the kmz file. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Therefore you can use it\nas such on any ArcMap\nproject . Nevertheless, it is worth \u00ab\u00a0cleaning\u00a0\u00bb\na little your document. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
You have to pay attention to a\ncouple of things: <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The first: since you are going\nto\noverlap your document layers on Google Earth it is\nnot useful to display the layers that can be\nworth for your own sake to replace it by the Google\nEarth view. Let\u2019s consider the layer \u201cEarth\u201d as an example. If you keep it activated in\nyour\ndocument, it will overlap ( and hide ) the image of Earth from Google Earth.\nMoreover,\nthis increases the kmz file size and therefore the loading time\nin\nGoogle Earth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The second: attribute tables are\nconverted\nto kmz format, so as to display the attributes when\nyou\nclick\non an entity in Google Earth.\nOnly let the attributes\nof your interest be displayed, as risk of increasing\nthe size of the kmz file and slow\ndown the loading . <\/p>\n\n\n\n
